(b) Increase Your Travel-Ability
SPRING BREAK & SUMMER are two times in the US when families are rushing off to their vacations and this is a time where suppliers get to rack in on the sales so expect prices to be elevated!
Be careful of TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE DEALS. It's not to say that all of them are bad, but that you MUST do your due diligence in reading the fine print, terms and conditions and possibly doing a little research. For instance, a cruise offering a $200 fare may sound great, but failure to read the terms may have you and your husband boarding a cabin with obstructed views or bunkbeds! An amazing trip to Thailand may sound great until you find out you're traveling in the midst of monsoon season.
When it comes to picking a date, keep in mind that while straddling your vacation over a US Holiday may save you some vacation time, you may find flight pricing to be elevated. The same with Holidays or Festivals within the destination you are visiting. Typically, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday is the cheapest day to fly. If you can structure your travel schedule around these days, these will likely be the best days to fly – both for a lower cost and a less-hectic airport experience.
